The Ludovika University of Public Service (Ludovika, in short) – established in 2012 – is the flagship educational institution of Hungarian public service, with a mission that has been part of a long-standing tradition in Hungary. With its educational portfolio, Ludovika is an important regional knowledge center for public administration, diplomacy, security and defense, military, law enforcement, water management, and many other social and economic fields related to the public sector. The Faculty of Public Governance and International Relations aims at educating professional civil servants for all levels of state administration and, through its predecessor institutions, has done so since 1977.

We at the Faculty of Public Governance and International Relations, like all our colleagues at Ludovika, would like to learn from the best educational institutions in public service and to use their resources to become better. We joined NASPAA because we are convinced that they can help us best to achieve our goals.

The two Master programs selected for program accreditation are the MA in International Public Service Relations and the MA in Cyber Security. The MA in International Public Service Relations focuses on International and European Public Policy Studies. The program, delivered in English, synthesizes the methods, and approaches of the disciplines of international relations, public administration, law, and economics. The effects of globalization, the law and policymaking of international organizations, the institutions, and sectoral policies of the EU as well as good governance or integrity management are among the topics covered in this program. It aims to educate and train students to become experts in their future positions either at international and EU institutions or in their respective national public administration roles.

The MA Program in Cyber Security prepares professionals for implementing cybersecurity tasks effectively in the fields of public administration, defense administration or foreign affairs administration. This program focuses on current and future cybersecurity challenges facing both the public and private sectors. It covers international relations in cybersecurity, public cybersecurity management, protection of critical electronic information systems, and data protection. Public service aspects are emphasized, and the "necessary and sufficient" principle had to be followed in the technical fields. Students acquire broad knowledge of theoretical and practical approaches of cybersecurity regarding environmental, social and economic aspects. Currently, the program is delivered in Hungarian, from September 2024 the language of instruction will be English.
