Pi Alpha Alpha Induction Ceremonies - Spring 2025
Fairleigh Dickinson University
Madison, NJ — The School of Public and Global Affairs at Fairleigh Dickinson University (FDU) proudly inducted 21 graduate students into Pi Alpha Alpha, the national honor society for public affairs and administration, during a ceremony held on April 3, 2025 at FDU’s Florham Park campus. All are pursuing a Master of Public Administration (MPA) degree.
Pi Alpha Alpha recognizes outstanding academic achievement and leadership among students pursuing careers in public service. Inductees are selected based on academic excellence and their demonstrated commitment to ethical leadership and civic engagement.
“This honor represents more than academic success,” said Peter Woolley, PhD, Director, School of Public and Global Affairs. “It reflects a deep commitment to public service and a promise to lead with integrity, both locally and globally. The faculty and administration of the MPA program are very proud of this inductee class for their dedication to their coursework and to serving their communities.”
Among this year’s inductees are staff and officers of Valley Hospital, Essex and Hudson County Prosecutor's Office, Port Authority of NY & NJ, Newark and Irvington Police Departments, including Newark Police Chief Sharonda Morris. The ceremony also included remarks from Sister Patricia Codey, SC, Esq. President, Catholic Healthcare Partnership of New Jersey, who spoke about the importance of ethical governance, civic responsibility, and the power of public leadership. Deacon Robert Baker, Sr., an MPA faculty member, gave the benediction.
The FDU chapter of Pi Alpha Alpha aims to foster a strong network of emerging leaders dedicated to effective, accountable, and inclusive public administration.
