NASPAA continues to grow as a global community committed to advancing excellence in public service education. We are pleased to welcome the following institutions as new members and look forward to their participation in our programs, conversations, and collaborative initiatives!
- University of Denver
- The University of Denver’s Josef Korbel School of Global and Public Affairs offers a Master of Public Policy (MPP) degree that is affiliated with the Douglas and Mary Scrivner Institute of Public Policy. The Korbel School’s Master of Public Policy (MPP) degree provides a foundational understanding of traditional public policy approaches, while also emphasizing a distinctive interdisciplinary lens well-suited to identifying, analyzing, and solving challenging policy issues at the local, national, and global levels. The MPP degree offers an innovative dual track structure whereby, after an initial core sequence in public policy analysis, students choose between a U.S. track and a global track for the majority of their coursework. Students also select a substantive specialization in public policy, culminating in a capstone project that showcases their ability to generate analytical, evidenced, and expertise-based solutions to contemporary policy issues. The MPP degree experience and student career development is enhanced by the close connection of the degree program to the Scrivner Institute of Public Policy’s research and other programming. The Scrivner Institute, located within the Korbel School, serves as a University-wide interdisciplinary hub for education, research and public engagement that addresses today’s most crucial policy issues with a local to global perspective and an emphasis on practical solutions. The Institute delivers on a commitment to the public good through inclusive, engaged, innovative and ethical public policy curriculum and programming.
- National University of Sciences & Technology (NUST)-Islamabad Pakistan,
- The Jinnah School of Public Policy & Leadership (JSPPL) at the National University of Sciences & Technology (NUST) is proud to join the NASPAA community. Evolving from NUST’s Department of Government & Public Policy, JSPPL strengthens the university’s commitment to rigorous policy education, applied research, and public-sector capacity building in Pakistan. JSPPL offers a well-established BS in Public Administration, a professionally oriented MS in Governance & Public Policy, and plans to introduce a PhD in Governance & Public Policy. The school partners closely with government ministries, international organizations, and civil society to equip graduates with the analytical, managerial, and leadership skills needed to address Pakistan’s most pressing governance challenges. JSPPL’s mission is to produce professionals and scholars who combine rigorous social-science analysis with practical, impact-oriented policy solutions. With an emphasis on experiential learning—policy labs, capstone projects, and internships—the school prepares graduates for roles in public administration, international organizations, research institutes, and civic leadership. JSPPL looks forward to contributing to NASPAA’s global network of public affairs and policy programs, exchanging best practices, and collaborating on efforts to strengthen governance and public service education worldwide.
- The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, School of Public Policy
- The School of Public Policy (SPP) at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen was inaugurated in 2024. As a postgraduate school, SPP enrolls both master’s and doctoral students with the objective of developing modern public policy professionals equipped with a deep understanding of public administration principles as well as proficiency in advanced public policy tools. SPP aims to construct an original and context-based knowledge system for public policy and administration, and promote the development of applied social sciences. We aspire to become a world-class public policy school that embodies the public administration ethos of Asia and China in particular. The Founding Dean of SPP is Professor Yongnian Zheng, a renowned political scientist and public intellectual specialized in Chinese politics and international relations. SPP’s four key characteristics are: (1) original and inclusive knowledge system: SPP leverages best practices in public policy and administration in Asia, with a particular emphasis on China, to develop an original and inclusive knowledge system. This practical and systematic approach supports the design and development of curricula that align with international standards while addressing regional and national needs; (2) interdisciplinary approach: SPP introduces interdisciplinary programmes specifically tailored to national strategies and regional development requirements. These programmes emphasize the integration of humanities and social sciences, management, engineering, agriculture, and medical science disciplines; (3) focus on the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA): by conducting policy research on real-world issues in the GBA, SPP aims to cultivate modern public policy talent in support of the region’s sustainable economic and social development; and (4) international educational exchange: SPP aims to nurture policy research talent for China and other countries, initially focusing on East Asia, particularly ASEAN nations, and gradually expanding to Europe and America.
