Becoming a Competition Host Site
Host #NBSim2020 at your School!
NBSim 2020 is built around United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 11: "Sustainable Cities and Communities."
Approximately 55 percent of the world's population resides in urban areas and cities, with this figure projected to rise to 68 percent over the coming decades. Communities around the globe must be prepared to streamline urban processes so they are sustainable, safe, and equitable. We must empower the next generation of public servants to navigate through the complexities of urban planning and governance.
We are in the process of recruiting universities to host next year's event. There are several spots remaining. The competition will be held over one weekend at the end of February or beginning of March 2020. We are providing host institutions with the flexibility to choose the dates that best work with their schedules.
We are looking for sites that have the technical capacity and interest in next year's topic to host the competition.
If you are interested in hosting next year's simulation competition or have any questions about the event, please email NASPAA Simulation Education Director, Supriya Golas, at firstname.lastname@example.org. The deadline to apply is October 20, 2019.
Is your school interested in hosting a future simulation competition? All NASPAA member schools are eligible to host the competition. The following criteria are taken into consideration during the sim site selection process:
- Interest in the simulation topic;
- Travel accessibility;
- Technical capabilities (i.e. computer labs, smart boards, IT team, WiFi bandwidth, etc.);
- Logistical capabilities (i.e. classroom space, site team leader time commitment, student volunteers, etc.);
- Proximity to other NASPAA member schools and programs (for student recruitment purposes);
- Commitment to innovative teaching and learning!
