Brian J. Wing became Commissioner of the New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance in 1997 after serving two years at Social Services Commissioner. During his 15 years with the former Department of Social Services, Brian held several positions. As Executive Assistant in the Office of the Commissioner he was responsible for overall administrative management of that office. Before joining DSS, he held staff positions in the State Senate and Assembly. He also served as Executive Director of the New York State Public Welfare Association, representing the interests of the state’s 58 local social services districts.
