Sara Goonan is a Budget Analyst for New York City’s Office of Management and Budget. While earning her bachelor’s degree in anthropology at the University at Albany, an internship with Family Planning Advocates of New York State stimulated her interest in state and local government, and she went on to work in the State Senate and volunteer on political campaigns. Her concentration in Public Finance in graduate school led to an internship at the Rockefeller Institute of Government where she conducted research for a project titled “The Fiscal Studies of Welfare Reform.”
