NASPAA Partner

University of New Mexico, School of Public Administration

Description

This project established a methodology that allowed the Universidad de Chile to expand its knowledge of other experiences in public management and be able to facilitate an exchange that promotes better management and improves the design of public institutions.

Need

There is a lack of cooperation between academic institutions of the School of Government and Public Management at the Universidad de Chile and other institutions of administration and international public management. Therefore, the generation and actualization of standard research methods in the field of public administration is necessary.

Objectives

To expand the vision of professors and students at the School of Government and Public Management at the University of Chile concerning research methods compared with general public administration goals.

Accomplishments

  • Created methodological proposal for comparative research on public administration.

  •  Workshop with 32 faculty members and  24 students in attendance

  • New projects with Latin American universities

  • Creation of a workgroup to keep studying comparative research on public administration. This group presented the project at the VIII CLAD Congress in October 2003.
