What do you enjoy about your job? What aspects of your job are the most exciting or interesting?
I enjoy dealing with the political environment in Washington, DC, and being able to serve as a liaison between the United Nations and the Washington community.

Why did you choose to pursue an MPA/MPP degree?
It gave me an opportunity to apply my interest in political science in a more tangible, "real world" manner.

How did you select your graduate school?
I already knew and like the MPP professors at Duke and they were willing to provide fellowship funding to support my studies.

How do you feel your MPA/MPP is helping you to make a difference?
I am extremely proud of the role the UN has played, and will be playing to address the genocide in Darfur. My MPP skills helped me understand political dynamics, communicate to decision makers, and affect the policy making-process, so humanitarian goals can be met in places like Darfur.

How would you characterize your personality?
* Team worker * Good under pressure * Compassionate * Persistent * Organized * Committed * Flexible * * Fast-paced * Curious * Detail-oriented * Independent * Diplomatic * Courageous * Analytical *
