Peter D. Bell is the president emeriti of CARE. He has also served as president of The Edna McCOnnell Clark Foundation, Senior Associate for the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, and president of the Inter-American Foundation. Bell served as Deputy Under Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health, Education, and Welfare, worked with the Ford Foundation for 12 years, and was a 2000-2001 UCLA Senior Fellow.
