Kevin
J. Martin was Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission. He was nominated
to the FCC by President
George Bush in April 2001, and was sworn in that July. He was designated chairman by President Bush
in March 2005, and was nominated for a
second term in 2006. Martin previously served as a Special Assistant to the President for Economic Policy and was on the staff of the National Economic Council. He also served as the official U.S. government representative to the G-8's Digital Opportunity Task Force. Martin graduated from the University of North Carolina and earned a master of public policy degree at Duke University. He is also a graduate of Harvard Law School. He is currently a partner at a law firm in Washington. |
