Jack Chow is the Assistant Director-General of the World Health Organization Department for HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria. Before joining the WHO, Dr. Chow served as Special Representative of the U.S. Secretary of State for Global HIV/AIDS, while also holding the position of Deputy Assistant for Health and Science. Dr. Chow holds an ambassador rank and is the first person of such rank to be appointed to a public health mission. With his expertise in infectious diseases, Dr. Chow has led many U.S. diplomatic efforts to establish a Global Fund to Fight AIDS and other global infectious diseases. Dr. Chow has also previously held positions in the State Department and White House Office of Science and Technology Policy.
