Ann M. Veneman

Former Executive Director, UNICEF

Graduate: MPP, University of California, Berkeley
Ann Veneman served as Executive Director of UNICEF from 2005 to 2010. In that role, she led an agency of over 10,000 staff members worldwide with a budget exceeding $2 billion. Prior to joining UNICEF, Veneman served as the 27th U.S. Secretary of the Department of Agriculture, the first woman to serve in that position. During her tenure, she directed major programs to improve nutritional education and to promote agriculture productivity.

Veneman earned an MPP degree at the Goldman School at the University of California, Berkeley.  She is also a graduated of UC-Davis and the UC Hastings College of Law.  A full biography is available here.
