The American
Student Government Association will provide all Student Government leaders and advisors nationwide with networking, research, and information resources and will teach them how to become more effective, ethical, and influential leaders on their campuses. ASGA also will promote the advancement of SGs nationwide, will conduct research as the nation’s only “SG Think Tank,” and will advocate the critical importance of every institution in America having a vibrant, autonomous Student Government organization." |

The mission of
the Harry S. Truman Scholarship Foundation is to find and
recognize college juniors with exceptional leadership potential who
are committed to careers in government, the nonprofit or advocacy
sectors, education or elsewhere in the public service; and to provide
them with financial support for graduate study, leadership training,
and fellowship with other students who are committed to making a
difference through public service. |

The Haworth Press, Inc., founded in 1978, is an independent
publisher of over 220 academic and professional journals (both in print and electronically) and over 150 books each year,
specializing in subjects such as social work/human services, agriculture/horticulture, pharmaceutical science, psychotherapy,

information science, hospitality and tourism, business and marketing,
LGBT/women's studies, and much more. Haworth's journals on cutting-edge topics are written and edited by the

ICMA is the professional and educational
organization for chief appointed managers, administrators, and
assistants in cities, towns, counties, and regional entities
throughout the world. Since 1914, ICMA has provided technical and
management assistance, training, and information resources to its
members and the local government community. |

Through its operating arm, the
National Academy of Public Administration Foundation, the Academy
carries out its Congressional charter. The Academy's acknowledged
expertise has also drawn state and local governments, as well as
nonprofit foundations, to contract with the Academy for the similar
types of research and analysis. Additionally, through its own Standing
Panels and with external private funding, the Academy promotes
discourse on emerging trends in governance. |

The National League of Cities is the
oldest and largest national organization representing municipal
governments throughout the United States. Its mission is to strengthen
and promote cities as centers of opportunity, leadership, and
governance. |

Public
Management Institute

Public Management Institute (PMI) has served as an important vehicle for bringing exceptional individuals with the capacity for leadership to careers in New York State government. Through carefully crafted job assignments, coupled with relevant training experiences, the PMI prepares participants with master's degrees in public administration or a related field for management positions of increasing responsibility within State agencies. |

The Government Accountability Office
(GAO) is an agency that works for Congress and the American people.
Congress asks GAO to study the programs and expenditures of the
federal government. GAO, commonly called the investigative arm of
Congress or the congressional watchdog, is independent and
nonpartisan. It studies how the federal government spends taxpayer
dollars. GAO advises Congress and the heads of executive agencies
(such as Environmental Protection Agency, EPA, Department of
Defense, DOD, and Health and Human Services, HHS) about ways to make
government more effective and responsive. GAO evaluates federal
programs, audits federal expenditures, and issues legal opinions.
